Ethical Reflection : The ethics of ageism - it affects more than older age groups

Base on this ethical reflection I have to place myself as the position of product manager of a range of impulse iced confectioneries such as Chocos, Mounties and Strawbs. Base on this point I will think that we have got on the bad side since we are going to promote things like this, which is not a healthy or food that are good for health, basically those are junk food which parents are mostly disagree to let their children consume.

Second point is that we are using young teenage girls to be in the television commercial and printed advertisement in order to promote our products or brands, Ok, to be honest I personally do not think that this is good from the moral view. But I have to do so since I was at the disagree side. So I really have to think it from the view of a business students. By placing profit at the first place. 

As the target market was given in the text, our target customer will be girls who is younger than 12 years old. It is easier to do once we have a selected target market. And we all know, little girl will copy what their elder brother or sister do so by adopting young teenage girls to be in the commercial did have the effect on girls who are younger than 12 years old. And ignored the moral value, we just have to sell as much as our products. Present our advertisement or commercial in a healthier or positive image will have good impact among parents too, especially parents who is around 20's years old. Making young teenage girls as our image, will make us easier to get closer to the target market too due to the similar ages and preferences. 

In the debate part, which is answering question of the agree side, I felt lucky cause we misunderstood the question before. We thought we are in the agree side which is should not use young teenage girl to promote our product. I checked on the restriction of advertisement and hope that agree side didn't see this because there is a rules talking about television commercial should not be appear 10 minutes  before,after and during children's tv program showing time. Even this is in specific country but this will be a strong point to talk about should not targeting children which is below 12 years old and this is what the law use to - to protect children not being affect by the television commercial. However, we think at both side which is agree and disagree, we can said that we are well prepare to answer the question that agree side asked. But I think that agree side did a little bit nervous which there are more peace comparing with the last few debate. 

Overall, I think that debate things did help a lot and let us gain a lot of great experience. Students can develop their presentation skill, research skill and learn from both side which sometimes you are in the side that you think it is so hard to do but after doing research you know that you can do it, the hints is given you inside the text.
